KWEL is the practice of UK-based visual artist Nole, shaped by two decades working inside advertising’s engine room and the wider creative industries. Working across generative AI, digital image-making and mixed media, she builds surreal visual worlds where meticulous art direction meets play, imperfection and the unexpected.
 

Every work begins before the image, in mind-maps, notes, sketches and half-formed ideas allowed to branch, collide and change direction. From there, the process stays fluid, moving between digital and physical experimentation as

each idea takes shape. The process is not fixed.
Discovery is part of the making.
 

Across different media and forms, KWEL is held together by a distinct visual language, where characters, typography, light and imagined environments become recurring elements within worlds that are surreal yet grounded, playful but considered, polished with something unexpected beneath the surface. The work returns to recurring questions around identity, belief and connection, and the possibility of hope alongside uncertainty.
